Continued Professional Development (CPD)
We as Counsellors know our continued Professional and Personal Development are a very important part of us working to the best of our ability with our Clients.
The more knowledge we have the easier it is to adapt and find a ‘best fit’ for our many varied Clients and the issues they may present. Keeping up to date with the latest developments and research in the field of counselling is also vital and part of our ethical guidelines too.
Many therapists are registered with professional bodies such as BACP, NCS and UKCP.
Below are some guidelines form the BACP ethics and guidelines regarding CPD:-
(other bodies will also have their own guidelines so please research these too)
How much CPD should I have?
We would normally expect registrants to undertake at least 30 hours of CPD per year.
Will the CPD requirement be audited?
A percentage of registered counsellors will be selected for audit and asked to provide details showing how they meet the required CPD criteria including evidence of face to face workshop attendance.
All Gold Workshops come with a CPD certificate.
We know that additional training in various subject areas will enhance your practice and benefit your clients. Gold are offering training days in many areas of knowledge and interest, inviting some high profile expert speakers to join us during the year – which we are very excited about and feel will be of great benefit to all who attend. These workshops allow you to meet and learn from eminent practitioners in the field of counselling and psychotherapy, often the very authors of books we all know and love!
Who should attend.
These workshops will be highly beneficial to anyone working in the field of caring for people such as psychotherapists, counsellors (and student counsellors), psychiatrists, psychologists , teachers and nurses. Each events will be part-seminar and part-workshop with both interactive and experiential elements.
At Gold we endeavour to offer high quality training with our team of qualified Counsellors who have vast experience to share – we are supportive and encouraging and hope to achieve an enjoyable, informal and informative place to train.
We look forward to meeting you all !
