From conflict to hope – At some time in relationships couples and families often find themselves struggling with anger, shock despair and sadness. Some are newlyweds who can’t understand how they have dived from the heights of love into a morass of conflict or, having grown into parents with families are now distraught finding their once idyllic dreams shattered into nightmares.
This workshop is designed for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists who are already established in their practice working with individuals, who would now like to learn more about the dynamics and skills involved in working therapeutically with couple clients or families.
In this workshop we will aim to help you develop a basic knowledge of relationships and help you to understand relational difficulties. Trainers will provide essential clinical thinking for couple/family work and how to hold clients effectively through the process of change as their relationship develops. It offers a way to explore your own experience of, and beliefs about, relationships and the connection between your family history and your present style of relating.
This training is for anyone who would like to understand the pitfalls and differences when working with couples and/or families and are thinking about continuing their training in couple or family therapy.
Benefits from attending this workshop
- A basic knowledge of working with couples and families
- An awareness of human relationships
- Confidence in working with couples/family dynamics rather than individuals
